What a day of action we had this Saturday. It was a proper test for the punter, with 53 selections spread across seven meetings from Southwell to the Curragh. When the dust settled, we came away with 10 winners and a tidy handful of placed runners to keep the day interesting. It was one of those afternoons where the favourites did their job in spots, but the real value came from picking the right spots in those deep, competitive handicaps.

The all-weather track gave us a couple of solid results. Patrol proved exactly why he was the one to back in the Ladies Evening Handicap, staying on gamely to justify the support. Elyam was another that didn't leave us sweating, hitting the line with authority to secure the win.

The jumps action was fast and furious. Luck Between Us showed the class of the Mullins/Townend connection, while Roc Dino reminded everyone why you never bet against a top-tier partnership in a novice hurdle.

Ripon was the star of the show for us. U Sure Do, Aphra Behn, and Bulletsnap all came home in front. It is rare to have three winners at one course on a single afternoon, so we will take those victories and run.

Sun Goddess was our marquee win. It was a massive statement in a Group 1 contest. However, we have to talk about the ones that broke our hearts, as both Zennor Storm and Dapper Guest failed to live up to the hype.

Vietnorm did the business at Market Rasen, and Uncle Goalie surprised a few at the Curragh. Elsewhere, we had some nice place money with Trojan Sun and My Girl Dee Mo, though they couldn't quite clinch the top spot.

Keep an eye on Force Noir after his massive 40/1 run in the Middle Park. He proved he belongs at this level. Similarly, Hi Corbett Court is knocking on the door after a great second at the Curragh. These horses are showing the right signals and should be on your shortlist for the next few weeks.
