Tuesday was one of those days where the racing gods seemed to be tossing a coin and letting it land on its edge. We traversed the country from the flat tracks of Yarmouth to the jumps at Hexham, taking in the artificial surface at Newcastle and the high-class action at the Curragh. It was a grind, and while we managed to find a handful of winners to keep the lights on, the ledger took a bit of a beating today. Six winners from twenty-eight completed races shows the difficulty of the cards we were dealt, but that is the reality of the game. Let us break down where the value was found and where the wheels came off.
Newcastle (AW)
Newcastle was the engine room for the day, and it delivered a fair share of drama on the synthetic surface. We saw some tactical brilliance and a few runners that just found one or two too good on the day.
Northern Viola
@ 10/3Shes Got The Blues
@ 9/2Dalamara
@ 7/2Yarmouth
Down in Yarmouth, the ground was testing, and it favored those with the grit to handle the soft conditions. We saw two standout performances here, though it was certainly not all plain sailing.
Marylebone
@ 11/2Wodao
@ 7/4Hexham
Up to the north for the jumps, where stamina and jumping ability are the keys. The Skelton yard continues to churn out winners, and we saw another display of their dominance today.
Littletown Lad
@ 11/8Royal Infantry
@ 4/5Curragh
Finally, over to Ireland. The Curragh provided some high-quality racing, though the results were a mix of the expected and the surprising.

Keep an eye on Lilli's Angel. She ran a blinder to finish second at the Curragh at 13/2. That upward form trajectory of 9841 is telling us she is finding her rhythm, and she should be picking up a race soon when the gaps open for her. Also, keep tabs on Ernst Blofeld at Newcastle; his consistency is hard to ignore, and he is surely sitting on a win in a similar Class 3 race if he keeps running like that. It was not a day for the history books, but we live to fight another day.
